Assistant Principal

Hello Hasty and Brier Creek families,

I’m Emily Gibson, the assistant principal at both schools. I am a proud product of Davidson County Schools having graduated from East Davidson in 2011. I attended UNC-Greensboro and earned two bachelor’s degrees in elementary and special education. After six years of elementary classroom experience, I served as an instructional coach for two years. I was accepted into the Principal Preparation for Excellence and Equity in Rural Schools (PPEERS) program at UNC-Greensboro where I obtained my masters degree in school administration. The past two years I have served as an assistant principal in Randolph County. I am excited to return to Davidson County and serve my hometown community.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Nick, and our two daughters, Georgia-Kate and Kennedy-Grace.
