School Bell

Students are not permitted to enter the building before 7:30 a.m. We ask that you don’t drop off your child prior to this time. Car riders must be dropped off at the back entrance of the building entering from Etta Lane. Staff members and Safety Patrol members are there to assist students who need help getting out of the car and walking to class. Bus riders and daycare van riders are dropped off in the bus parking lot.
Students who eat breakfast at school should report to the cafeteria between 7:30 a.m. and 7:55 a.m. They need to be present in their classrooms by 8:00 a.m. Dismissal time is 2:30 p.m. Due to afterschool meetings staff supervision is extremely limited; therefore it is important that your child is picked up promptly if he/she isn’t riding the bus.

Hasty values class time. Uninterrupted classroom time contributes to academic success and instills good habits. Please schedule appointments (doctor, dental, etc.) whenever possible after school hours so as not to disrupt classroom instruction. School begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. Students are expected to be in their classrooms at that time. If your child arrives late, he/she must be accompanied by a parent/guardian to the office for sign in. Chronic tardiness will be addressed by the school social worker and administration. Riding the bus is a viable option for excessive tardies. Warning bell will ring at 7:55 a.m. Tardy bell will ring at 8:00 a.m.

If it is necessary to pick up your child before the end of the school day, please follow these guidelines:

1. If your child has an appointment, please send a note to the teacher that morning.
2. When you arrive to sign your child out for early dismissal, please park in a
parking space behind buses. The fire lane must be kept clear at all times.
3. Parents need to report to the office, not the classroom before 2:00 p.m.
4. Sign the student out and give the reason for the early dismissal.
5. Someone from the office will send for your child.
6. Parents who arrive after 2:00 p.m. will have to wait in the office for their child
to be dismissed at their regular time.
7.If a student is to leave school in a different manner than usual or is to be picked up by
anyone other than the custodial parent, a note must be sent to the child’s teacher. We do not accept transportation changes over the phone for matters of safety. Without written authorization from the custodial parent(s), children will be sent home in their usual manner.
8.Please inform day care providers if your child will not need transportation that day.
